All-Time list of A-Sun All-Academic honorees
MACON, Ga. - A total of 142 Kennesaw State student athletes received Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic honors for the 2009-2010 season, the conference announced on Tuesday. The men’s tennis team highlighted the day, as every member of the roster was recognized, one of just five teams throughout the entire A-Sun to earn such a distinction.
“I am very proud of the way our team performed this semester in the classroom. I have stressed from the beginning that our student-athletes are here first and foremost to receive a quality education,” said head men’s tennis coach T.J. Greggs, whose squad was the only one in their respective sport to have everyone honored. “I am so proud of everyone for their efforts this season both on the court and in the classroom.”
The 142 student-athletes honored tied for the third most in the conference. In order to be receive All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must earn a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during their semester of competition, and they must be on the team’s final roster at the conclusion of the season.
Following men’s tennis, the men’s golf team (8-of-9) and women’s golf team (4-of-5) had the highest ratio of student-athletes honored among Kennesaw State programs. Women’s track and field had a total of 22 student-athletes receive recognition, the most in the conference for that sport.
