Kennesaw State Student-Athlete Advisory Council to Raise Money for Miracle League

SAAC looks for record-breaking fundraiser on Wednesday night against Georgia Tech

KENNESAW, Ga. – On Wednesday evening when the Owls take on No. 3-ranked Georgia Tech at Stillwell Stadium, the Kennesaw State Student-Athlete Advisory Council will be raising money for the North Metro Miracle League.

Wednesday’s game will mark the third year the SAAC has selected to support the North Metro Miracle League as their charitable organization. This year, the SAAC will look to raise more than $1,000 dollars for the Atlanta-based organization.

“We are very excited about the possibility of surpassing our goal of raising one thousand dollars for the Miracle League this week,” said SAAC President and Kennesaw State pitcher Kyle Clayton. “The Miracle League means a lot to us and with a large crowd expected we feel like we can raise more than our goal.”

In the past two years, the Owls have raised close to $1,000 in donations from fans, students, faculty and staff. The money raised has gone towards equipment and helping build new much-needed facilities.

“It would be the biggest year we have had if we reach this goal,” added Clayton. “So far I would estimate we have raised about two-hundred dollars.”

The SAAC will also partner with a Kennesaw State Sports Marketing class for a second fundraiser for the Miracle League on Thursday evening when the Owls host Belmont at Stillwell Stadium at 6:00 p.m.

First-pitch for Wednesday’s game between the Owls and the Yellow Jackets is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Stillwell Stadium. For more information about the North Metro Miracle League please visit www.nmml.net.
