KENNESAW, Ga. – The defending Atlantic Sun Conference champion Kennesaw State Owls have started spring practice and have announced their 2010 Spring Schedule this morning in a statement released by head coach Rob King.
“I'm very pleased with our team this spring,” said King. “They have been working very hard to increase fitness levels and play more quickly. We've got several players recovering well from surgery and our focus, as ever, during this time of the year is on individual development rather than team play.”
“However, after scrimmaging the Atlanta Beat last week, I could see the progress that has already been made,” added King. “We have four remaining spring dates to test the squad; playing Georgia State, Columbus State, Jacksonville State and NAIA National Champions Lee University, before concluding the spring with our annual Alumni match.”
Kennesaw State will begin the spring season on Saturday, Mar. 27 in Panthersville, Ga. when they play matches against Georgia State and Lee University, the 2009 NAIA National Champions.
On Saturday, April 10, the Black and Gold will play at Jacksonville State. The Owls will also play the Gamecocks in the preseason opener in August. The following Sunday, April 18, the Owls will be back in Panthersville to play Georgia State and NCAA Division II powerhouse Columbus State.
The spring season concludes on Sunday afternoon, April 25 with the annual KSU Alumni Game at the KSU Soccer Complex.
